SaaS sales. Customer success. App builder.

Sales experience.
A builder’s perspective.

I’m Steve Kovacs. I help people understand software, see its value, and put it to work. Now I’m building it, too.

The builder’s perspective

My own app.
A very practical education.

I’m building a private AI journal and notes app. The work spans the product experience, integrations, subscriptions, testing, and release preparation.

I use RevenueCat for mobile subscriptions and have worked on web checkout and the shared subscription access used by MindDrive’s desktop app. It gives me a concrete product to demonstrate and real decisions to discuss with other app builders.

What I work on

The full experience.

Turning an idea into an app, explaining its value, working through subscription flows, and checking the details.

What it adds

Empathy for builders.

A practical understanding of the questions behind an app launch, and where clear product guidance helps.

What I can show

A real product.

Business Development Manager

Find the need.
Make the next step useful.

At Humi and Employment Hero, I focused on inbound and outbound business development: understanding business needs, qualifying opportunities, and building pipeline for an HR software platform.

The work reinforced the value of listening closely, keeping good notes, and giving the next person enough context to move the conversation forward.

01 / Listen

Understand the business.

Ask about the team, its current process, and the problem it needs to solve.

02 / Connect

Clarify the fit.

Connect the business need to the relevant software capabilities and identify what needs a closer look.

03 / Follow through

Keep the context.

Document the conversation, qualify the next step, and maintain momentum with clear follow-up.

Beyond the first conversation

Helping the team
work better, too.

  • Built multichannel outreach using Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo.
  • Helped train incoming sales development representatives and supported enablement.
  • Supported the HubSpot-to-Salesforce transition during Humi’s acquisition by Employment Hero.

From customer success to sales

Software clicks
when the value is clear.

At LMN, I worked first in customer success, then as a Senior Account Executive. That combination taught me to think beyond the sale: understand someone’s business, demonstrate what matters, and help them use the software with confidence.

I worked across discovery, product demos, full-cycle sales, onboarding, training, and technical troubleshooting. The strongest part of that work was the relationship with the customer.

Listen. Show. Follow through.

Discovery, consultative demonstrations, negotiation, and implementation support for SMB, mid-market, and enterprise customers.

Senior Client Success Manager · 2015–2018

Make adoption feel achievable.

Onboarding, webinars, training guides, and hands-on support to help people become confident users.

Across both roles

Bring the team along.

Training BDRs, mentoring teammates, improving resources, and contributing useful product-testing feedback.

A little about me

Curious by nature.
Hands-on by choice.

My career started with helping people learn software, then grew into selling it. At LMN, I worked across customer success and account executive roles. At Humi and Employment Hero, I focused on business development.

Building MindDrive has brought those experiences together. I’m learning what it takes to make a product useful, explain it clearly, and keep improving it when the details get complicated.

I’m based in Barrie, Ontario. I enjoy work where I can listen carefully, understand the problem, and take ownership of the next step.
